SEE MOMMY RUN! We recently had a group of moms that came out and ran the Goblin Gallop 5k in Fairfax. For many of our members it was their first race. Congrats to Jen (pink shirt above) for placing 2nd in the women's division! As a MBC instructor she doesn't just talk the talk, she runs too! All of the moms finished and now plan on doing more local races. It was also the first race for many of our kids. The younger kids ran the 1k Fun Run and Kyle (above in the black shirt) actually ran the 5k, we are so proud of him! After my kids stopped complaining about freezing their "Super-butts" off, they actually had a great time running - or skipping as my son preferred to do. Most races offer a Fun Run for the kids. It gives them a great feeling of accomplishment as they finish the race and receive a medal (note: at most races all the kids get medals). It also teaches them that they don't have to "win" the race to succeed, it's all about participating and having a good time. After the kids finished their run they stayed on the sideline and cheered the moms on during the 5k. It was a great opportunity for our kids to participate in a race and to See Mommy Run!
Make it a family affair and get running!
